I have 2.5 v6 2003 xtype,My cig lighter works but my tyre inflator won't work but works in other cars,also a halfords 4 plug adapter for gps etc doesn't work,any ideas please?

The fuse for the lighter in the X-type DOES have two positions; if it is to the left (in line with the other fuses), it is on the ignition hot circuit; flip it over (offset) and it is wired to always on. The other side of the fuse stays in the center.
