cloudy headlights
I need new headlights. I am having trouble with my lamps on my 2006 X Type Jag. They seem to be very cloudy. I find it very hard to see at night with them I know they would be pretty expensive through the dealer, right? Any suggestions?

You can buy a kit, or just use anything from t-cut (a paint cutting compound for removing scratches in paintwork) through to toothpaste according to some.. The top layer of the plastic on the headlamps turns cloudy over time due to the sun.. so you remove the top layer with a very mild abrasive compound, and then seal it with a good quality wax. If you do this on a regular basis maybe every 4 or 5 months you'll be able to keep them clear and looking like new :-)

I had good luck with a Gator brand headlight restoring kit. It takes time to get good results, but like anything, the more effort you put in, the more you get out.
Lowes has it for $20:
