Default code reader issues

Was trying to use ELM327 (2005 X-type) that I successfully used on my other cars including XK8, the unit is totally dead and red led that is usually on as soon as I plug the reader in is dead. Is there a fuse I need to check, any suggestions?

thank you

On second thought . . It looks like the fuse box might have changed in 2005 or 2006.

According to one diagram I found, you may want to check fuses 7, 25, 32 if your fuse boxes only go to 56.

Thank you. Any idea where I could download electrical diagram for 2005? I don't think it is part of JTIS?

F25 replaced, took care of the problem. I am only getting P1111 System Pass, so i guess everything is OK. Will wait till ABS light comes on again next time to get the codes.

thanks everyone

You will need software that can read the ABS module. The elm327 can do it but that's (in effect) hardware.

Based on the article, the only app that gives ABS info is Carista OBD2 which is only available for android.

I have a XK8 MY2000 and had no problem connecting several OBD code readers to it: ELM328 (WiFi, connecting to DashCommand on my iPhone), Launch Creader VII+, Foxwell NT510 and Vgate ScanVS450. A few months ago they all worked. Now only the ELM328 works - the others say there is a communication failure.

Any ideas on what may have happened? I am particularly annoyed that the Launch Creader has stopped working, since it includes software for the ABS and the other systems that the generic ELM328 does not handle.

Correction to my previous submission: It is an ELM327, not ELM328 that still works.

My ELM327 WiFi connects fine but I dont think it is capable to read ABS codes. I just bought iCarsoft i930 which connects to the ABS module. So far there are no codes and no indication lights, fingers crossed.
