Default Cold air intakes, and turbos

Has anybody added a cold air intake which?is what i would like to do since it will be more effeincit and a bit more power or a short ram air intake, which i would purchase. andhas anybody installed turbo out of curosity. And if u did add the caold air intake or short ram intake , where did u find the airbox for the car, and did u relocate the new one.

Disco, people have added the cold air intakes to their cars with little to no positive gains. Sure, you get a new look, but that is about all the gain that you are really going to get. You are better off removing the baffle inside the air box and go from there. Cheaper and you net the same results if not better results.

As for turbo, seems to me someone did do a turbo, but the specifics I am not sure about. I personally would not recommend this unless you can figure out a way to make the transfer case a lot stronger.

I suggest you just replace the filter element with a K&N. Your stock intake is excellent in design and flows a a good bit of air as is. The filter is the restriction.

As for the turbo, forgetabout it. Best bet is to port your intake, bigger injectors, and if you're up for it, complete exhaust, headers, free flow cats and new mufflers.

Your exhaust is one of the most restrictive i have ever seen. You will free up approx 25 hp just by gutting the factory setup and replacing with aforementioned system.

Enjoy!

Where can i get the k and N filter offline, like a local autoparts store, any recomenndations, and yeah the exhaust is very restrictive, but i can't really afford a 800 dollar transplant, yet, maybe in a few weeks, ut htreres no one around town who likes working on european vehicles. Once again how do i remove the baffle, any pros and cons to this.

Here is a link to a guy that did a bunch of different mods on his car including smoothing the baffles in the airbox. Pretty interesting stuff.

I think I bought my K&N from Auotanything. Good price and free shipping.

K&N filters r sold at my local autozone and Advance Auto Parts. Check their website and see if your store carries them.

Easy. Take off the engine cover. Then right in front (Right behind where the grill is) you will find the airbox. Take off the 4 or so screws and change the filter. You can see where the airbox is w/o taking anything off first. It's a small rectangular box right behind the grill.

I highly suggest you download the JTIS service manual. Everything is in there for the most part.

It's probably a good idea you just stay away from doing any engine work on your jag. This project is simple, but if you don't have a clue and mess up something...or don't clean up the shavings and what not.....if can get all sucked up into your intake and you'll be dead in the water.....

Just drive the car and enjoy.

Hey Racer where is the Pollen filter? I found another thread describing where it is but I still can't find it.

And is it easy to change? All I know how to change really is air filters and do oil changes. This car is a bit more confusing than older cars so I'm scared to experiment with harder stuff.

Nervermind I found it. But I don't know if I want to mess around with changing it. Dealer wants $100 for what is basically a filter and 5 min job. How much does the pollen filter part cost from the Jag dealer?

Disco, open the hood and look at the center of the radiator from the top. You will see two small openings (about 2x4", oval in shape). Follow these straight back towards the motor and when you run into a plastic box that says "Jaguar" on the top of it, that is the air box. Remove the 4 screws holding it in place and lift straight up. That will expose the air filter. PUll out, install the new filter.

As for finding a K&N filter, go to any local auto parts store and if they don't have the filter sitting on the shelf (that is where I found mine), you can go to the counter and have them special order it for you.
