Default crazy sound on bumps

Guys all of a sudden i am hearing a rattling like sound when i drive through, bumpy surfaces. the sound is coming from the rear drivers side. the noise "sounds like i have a metal rim in the trunk that is not secured and it bounces when i drive over bumpy surfaces"
i had all of my shock replaced about 2 months back.

Rattling? In the back there is a bushing that the exhaust rests against nearer to the rear differential. One of the sharp edges to the pipe clamp eventually wore down the bushing and it was metal on metal. I would hear a rattle whenever I shut the doors hard, or when the car started, etc. Take a look under and see if you can find when I'm talking about.

When I had my rear control arms replaced, I had the tech grind off that edge so there's no contact anymore.

thanks AML, but i doubt if it is the bushing you mentioned because i don't hear the sound when i close the door nor when i start the car. it is when i drive through bumpy surfaces. could it be the rear control arms?

I think the rear control arms is more of a squeaking than a rattling, but I still wouldn't rule it out. Are you getting some extreme camber in the rear wheels?

check the anti roll bar bushings. They are two in number and they rest on a long metal bar.

Also, make sure that your spare tire is screwed down tight.

A rattiling seems like it could be heat shields...I basically just had to rip all of mine off cause they causing all sorts of annoying rattles....I would start there..just my .02

I would second this. Also called the sway bar. Mine squeaks when I jack it up and whenever my suspension is articulated
