RE: bump
Rattling vents are common problem on the X Types for the sake setting your mind at ease . Do a search on so that you sould find a solution . Otherwise try Technical Forums (not confuse w/ Forum Suggestions lol ) and post a thread on your problem .
Can you take it off ? You can but being a plastic it may be broken easily if you apply more than enough power hence you will need a set of vent . As I recall, glue can work for your vents but dunno for sure

According to the pictures in JTIS, it looks like the woodgrain finish panel (over the airbag) just pulls straight out and is tethered to the dashboard. The right-hand vent is held in place with two screws that are visible when the finish panel is removed. Since the woodgrain finish panel blows off whenever the passenger-side airbag is deployed, I assume it should come off with some gentle prying.

I took them off.
I started with the piece arround the clocks + central vents. comes off much easier than the airbag part. they have different clips. it helped to take off the big piece first because then i was able to use some tools to pull the airbag piece out (the clips are much firmer not gentle ) pulling from the left side. it does not hit the passenger when airbag deploys because it has retaining belts and it is pushed on the dashboard. the vent comes of only by 2 screws.
Not solved the rattle but at least now I can fancy swapping the wood with carbon when I feel like a racer... provided that i buy the carbon trim in the mean time.
I suspect now the outside mirror. Little by little I shall learn to dismantle the whole X-Type :P
