Default Does Torque read C-codes?

Got a good Elm 327 clone, using Torque Pro.

Does this program read chassis codes on the X-type?

It's a v1.5 and the car is a 2002. It does a superb job on the engine sensors, by the way!

If not, is there a plug-in or a different app?

No, Torque can only read P codes.

If you want to read B, C or U codes then you need IDS, SDD, Autologic, or one of the other high-end scan tools.

I have the datastream code...it is definitely in the stream...I was rather hoping that I didn't have to lug out my laptop to read them in real time.

Bummer.

Thanks, Cambo!

Scratch the laptop idea...the XP machine with the SDD/IDS (V1.29) is bricked. Hard drive is locked up tight as a drum.

I'm assuming my Mongoose from the LR will play on the Jag...maybe it's jut time to bite the bullet and find a new interface, since I'll have to replace the software, anyway.

The android app does a bang-up job on the engine functions, but it looks like the other two channels of data need some type of hardware interface to make them useful.

The elm327 can do it but I don't think anyone's taught the app how.

That is the issue as I see it...the data is absolutely in the stream: OBD, TCM, GEMS...there is SO much information, but nothing seems to be able to separate the streams except for the OBD and TCM.

Anyway, that setup was pocket change. I'm looking at getting something in between...I was using a Mongoose JLR clone and the SDD/IDS software, but it isn't worth my while to build a new XP laptop and repurchase the software to run it on.

Anybody have experience with the iCarSoft i930? or the slightly pricier i903-II?

I was going to roll another SDD setup together, and just for the halibut while I was on the Walmart site, entered the i930...a few cents under $95, free shipping. Hell, why mot? On it's way.

Yes, the codes ARE in the ELM stream...and you can read them if you poke the right PID codes. The codes are readily available...for $7500, with a brutal non-disclosure contract. Now I know why there isn't an easy-to-get app for them!

Several people have posted rather unhappy outcomes but best read them yourself.

There are much cheaper ways but it needs someone with time, ability and who feels the need. So far, not happened.

Definitely no need to pay big $$$

I got a Mongoose clone to avoid the wait / hassle.

I've used Mongoose along with the JLR software for years (Land Rover), but the software is unrecoverable from a crashed drive on my old XP laptop, and my cable is falling apart.

I'm waiting for my i930 to get here (real one, not a clone). I borrowed one from my shop...they use it instead of the 'big' machine when they only need to read and not reprogram, because it is faster and they can take it on the road. It reads every piece of information that the $5000 box does...the entire history of the car back to where the computer was originally installed. Display is a little small, but WOW, it works. They have the same thing (i980) for the Benzs, too.
