Default RE: engine change

Wow...engine leaking some oil and they authorized an engine change??!! Wow..i'm sure their must have been more to it than that??

First, this is not an ongoing problem....since I’ve never heard of them replacing an engine due to oil leaks, but consider yourself luck that you are getting it done.

Second, mismatched serial numbers? You won't have to worry about that for another 20-30 years...not too many people are rushing in to buy an x type and the x-type does not have a good "retainability" value....sorry...so I wouldn't worry there too much.

Third, other compensation? Like dude, they are replacing your engine because you had an oil leak....what else you looking for...like I said, consider yourself lucky...

if you are planning on trading up to an s-type, just keep the docs from the swap. better yet, be sure to go to the same dealer, and when you do remind them they performed the service and try for a better deal.

So is this a good jag story? Meaning that the dealer isn't jerking you around like the rest of these post?

Thats cheap!
A member on another forum who lives 30 minutes from me was quoted GB£6375.34 (US $13147.38) to replace his 3.0 engine the other week.

wow, this is a crazy story - I may have to ditch my X, before the selecet edition warranty runs out... but I'll probably get another X... maybe a different color though

Why ditch it? You got something wrong with it?
