engine swap noobie
This is a great forum, havent seen till today. this should be a fun thread for all you pros to stretch your wisdom about th cars we all love. anyways i bought a new 3.0 for my 2002 x type and i need to put it in. im very good with mechanical skills just these are alot different under the hood then the sports cars i have worked on. anyways im pulling the motor just got started this evening and need to pull it from the top. any help would be greatly appreciated. all hints on the disconection from the trans, motor mounts, got alot of the wiring disconnected already and i also took the intake off for more room to work. all info and little hints would be greatly appreciated thanks guys
I'd drop it from the bottom. Should be much easier. Search jfenley ( Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum - View Profile: jfenley) on here as he has done it. He also posted several pics along the way. This should help you out a lot.
Good luck!

Yes. You still need to get those bolts out from the bottom before you drop the engine. Put some air on the cylinder through the spark plug hole and turn the engine one way or the other. It will be easier to get at those bolts before you drop the engine.
