Default gearbox help

I have a 2003 2.5 auto
When i shift from drive to 4th the gearbox light comes on..if i turn it off and on then drive around 10 minutes it will go away

Hi,
Your problem is your cable needs to be reset, I had this with my car its reasonably easy to do.

That did not solve it..i took my -off 20 minutes then started it then put it into 2 and tried to drive and the yellow gearbox fault comes up..the automatic works fine but anytime i shift over to 2,3,4 this will happen and ill get shifting issues untill it resets

On step A it states to turn ignition off then put it into nuetral...when i try that it starts beeping..

If it's the same as an XK it will shut up after a bit!

Yeah it's just the warning beeb to let you know it's not in neutral it's nothing to worry about.
