Can anyone tell me how to remove the interior rear door panel on a 2002 X-Type?

Thanks.

It looks like there are 3 screws. The rest are just push in connectors, you just have to gently pry the panel off at that point. The cable for the door handle must then be removed. Just pull out on the cable where is snaps on the backside of the handle. Then there are some electrical connectors that need to be removed and you should have the panel off.

Thanks for the explanation.

The auto-lock doesn't work on one rear door.

There's no audible clicking noise in the door when operating the auto-locks.

I'll remove the door panel and check for a stuck solenoid mechanism or perhaps an open electric circuit.

Thanks again for instructions to remove the door panel.

Any suggestions on typical problems & fixes with auto-locks are appreciated.

I would have to say that it is probably the particular actuator for that door if its the only one that is not working. Could be electrical connection if you are lucky. Would try unplugging it and plugging it again. Also look for signs of water intrusion that could be possibly causing the premature failure, maybe the weather seal at the window cracked or missing. Just some thoughts, probably a new actuator will be needed though, unless you feel brave enough to pull it apart and look for an issue within the actuator itself. good luck to you.
