At the moment I cant remove the tyres and my car is due for MOT. Please help. Thx
Hie Thermo and All, I managed to remove the lug nut by orthodox method - chiselling. Most of the garages refused to deal with it, so I had to go by the so called barbaric method, casualties, plastic cover and one stud. Now wheel out tyre changed, all is well. Thanx for your help and pieces of advice

I do not want to post them here as this makes essentially any locking lugnut defeatable and should not be in the hands of just anyone (for obvious reasons). So, send me an PM through the site and I will let you know what you need to do to get that lugnut off.
Hi there Thermo, sorry for the resurrection but I have literally just stripped my locking wheel nut and remover, can't currently PM as I'm guessing I'm still a newbie.

There is an excellent YouTube video showing how a guy removed one of his. Ruined that lug nut in process deliberately but did get it off. See link below. He has several other xtype videos also which are quite good

The video shows what happens when lug nuts ( wheel nuts) are put on using air tools rather than manually and then a torque wrench.

Long ago replaced my OEMs with the Toyota lugs, slapped a 21mm socket in the trunk, along with a quality 1/2" drive handle and extension.

No more rattle caps!
