Interior Swap

Interior Swap
I bought a 2005 X-Type from the auction about a year ago and it's been a good car so far. I needed a few things before I do a complete repaint and came across a 2006 Sport with the carbon fiber/alcantara package so I bought the whole car for $1000. It is a perfect car other than it has a windowed block so it is just a parts car. It has the heated seats as well as the alpine stereo (at least that is what it says on the speakers). I am going to swap the full interior to my 2005. Is there anything I should know about the hook up of certain parts like the stereo and seats or just move everything over?
Also, my A/C doesn't work in the 2005. I had it recharged and they said the system was dead. Is there a common issue with the system or should I just swap the whole unit over as well?

Does your vehicle currently have heated seats? If it doesn't you will need to swap the control panel out to make the seat heaters work. The great thing about Jaguar is they use the same electrical harness regardless of options installed.
For the stereo you will need to get the wiring diagrams and see if they match up. Before swapping the head unit over. The tricky part is the head unit is part of the CAN Bus network and you will probably need to have someone with dealer level software activate it to the CAN.
They said your A/C is dead? What bad compressor or just doesn't run. There is a pressure switch that protects the compressor and if it goes bad the compressor will not run. You could try swapping the pressure switch from the donor car. It is tucked up inside the right hand side wheel arch cover. Need a little more info to be helpful with the A/C

As far as the A/C goes, I don't know. The original condenser was damaged so I bought a new one and took it down to a local shop and they call and said they filled the system up and even though everything seems to work fine it doesn't blow cold. They didn't diagnose it further than that. I just didn't know if there was a common issue with them or not.

Well its not working fine if its not blowing cold.....
When turning on the A/C, do you hear a clicking noise ( A/C compressor clutch engaging )? You can look down in front of the engine to even see if the clutch is engaging, if not, could be relay (Relay #3 in Engine Compartment fuse box ). I have also seen the EVAP temp sensors go faulty, defaults to 32F, which will inhibit compressor operation, you'll need to check codes.
I should mention that I have seen quite a few clutches come off the compressor, I supposed you should check this first, then proceed with seeing if actually engages.
