I suspect you have the same problem as my 2004 XType. The flap on inside of air handler that distributes air flow between demister (defrost as we call it in US) duct and the face/floor ducts has broken and is fixed in position to divert air to demister all the time. I’ve asked for advice on here for years and the fix for a new air handler is cost prohibitive to me. Even in the heat of summer we have learned to live with all the air diverted to windshield area. Otherwise the AC and heat functions perfectly. If I am correct, and someone else knows of a way to get air even partial diverted to the face and floor vents I’d love to hear it as well. Best of luck

I discovered on line that the climate control computer may have need a reret following a recent battery disconnection.

I found the instructions to do this at the following link and it worked.

Many thanks for your reply

Maybe this link will be of use to you

https://www.justanswer.com/jaguar/7k...03-x-type.html

I disconnected the battery for an hour them I followed the instructions below and it worked!!!!

The climate control module does need to be programmed with a Jag tool but the actuators should still work unless we have a broken door. Try just disconnecting the negative battery cable for an hour. Then reconnect the battery to see if it will resetThe vent and floor share a motor but we need to make sure the motor and doors are moving. Also we can try the manual reset of all the motors.

Select full cooling

Select full heating

Back to full cooling

Select face followed by floor

Then select face again

Finally select defrost

Thanks Simon, yes I have tried that in the past in my diagnosis. Very happy for you that this worked in your case. My door flap is broken, or rather the arm that connects it to the actuator motor is broken.

You could look to find someone breaking a car for parts and maybe buy a replacement online. I have done this for various parts in the past
