Default Little probelm

On my quest to get my car back ont he road, i have discovered something about our cars which im unclear about.

According to jaguar, the outer tie rod is part of the control arm. And it seems that all the diagrams im seeing online do not show this. What gives, and can anyne provide a little info on this?

British terminology nuff said
its a ball joint and the outer tie rod connects to the hub carrier. You should work on them for a living, jaguar cant call a part the same thing from the workshop manual, to parts catalog, to warranty booking....

they call the front knuckle a "verticle link" I still dont really get that one.

I dont really understand what the question is.

The tie rod end is common terminology, so is control arm, and they are not part of each other or directly connected.

outer tie rod is not part of the control arm... but there is a chance that Jag describes the tie rod and a "control" arm, as a poor description.
Most of us call the lower control arm just the control arm, or the lower "A" arm, or A arm..

this show the tie rod end.. just as an example..

I didnt find the outer tie rod in my quick search...

this is the front control arm - the pic on this page

Still looking for a question I can answer.... need subject, object, verb, question mark.... maybe a who what where why or when in there somewhere LOL

Also the dealer should be able to print out a picture of the part with its part number... so you know exactly what part they are quoting.

okay, so i've figured it out
Im going to just get the whole assembly, saves me a ton of later on repair work.

But is the tie rod, part of the control arm when you purchase it, the jaguar dealer said this, but in diagrams it doesn not show it? Is it one piece or two? I hope that helps

for the millionth time.. lol
the tie rod is not part of the control arm, and not even attached to it.

Get a picture of what the dealer is saying.

Please write your questions in form of an understandable sentence... so we can answer what you are asking !!!
