Hey Everyone,

I'm new to the forum and have a very good question for anyone who has lowered their Jaguar X-Type with Eibach springs.

First my problem:
I lowered my car with Eibach springs. I did this with orignal OE stock shocks for 2 weeks untill I could afford new ones(Bilstein Shocks).
When I did this I noticed the back tire closed the gap of the wheel well by over 1.5 inches - cool! But the front seemed it was only a half inch - not cool!
In other words Eibach advertised a 1.4 INCH DROP EVENELY. This is not the case. I also then 2 weeks later, as said put the new shocks on and still same problem.
It almost looks like I have a bunch of bricks in my trunck. The rear is droped noticably, but the front seems to really not have moved.

So my question is has anybody else done this, and if so is your car like this as a resslut?

I just spent over $1,600 dollars including insallationto do this and I would hate to have to buy the KW coil-over Shocksto adjust the front.

I checked with Eibach and their tech said that the springs have numbers on them with letters at end.
Letters VA are front. Letters HA are rear. So I checked like an hour ago and they are correct.
Plus the place I had them installed at (Sears Automotive) had lowered cars all over the place.

Now... the Eibach Tech said also, that if the car has the shock connected to the lower A-arm that at the bottom of the a-arm where the shock is, is a bushing that is suppose to be tightened only when the car is set on the ground. I'm not quite sure how its connected at the moment. I'll have to look in the morning.

Anyone here who replied or does. Do you have a lowered jaguar x-type with Eibach springs?
If so say yes I do have Eibach springs in the reply please so I know for sure.

MarckC you are right about the shock connecting to lower control arm.

It connects to the top. I had a local mechanic tell me that exactly.

So as far as Eibach claims this is not the case.

I assume Eibach has not tested this on a Jaguar x-type but has made it according to stock spring measurements.

Since these springs have been seen personally by me on stock (original) shocks as well as the new Bilstien shocks.

There is no difference. My opinion is Eibach unless someone on this forum with Eibachs with perfect drop says differentI highly recommend tox-type owners enquiring to drop their carsnot to use Eibach springs!

Do it right do it with the coil-overs - (expensive) but total control of drop!

That’s how the Bonspeed Jaguar did it! (I looked and called about KONI - they are not available for Jag xtype - must be a mod of suspension)

On this note I’m going to trade it in, in a couple month for a real car - (Infiniti g37 Coupe)

Besides, I’ve heard a lot of horror stories about the transmissions as time bombs ready to give in the 75,000-100,000 mile range with their inadequate coiling build as well as a transfer case that isn’t designed to handle this cars specs.

And… not to mention the ole x-type is going out of production, and I believe your car will not be worth more, but less. This makes me mad at Jaguar! I really loved my car until now!
