Dennis,
I read all thread and didn't understand how to connect separate climate control unit after removing factory sat nav and installing kenwood double-din.
Can you help me?
I've already bought separate climate unit.

I can't find in your thread about the CCMU connection.
How to connect separate CCMU to control the climate?
I am controlling climate from the touch now.

Question Heater Control / Screen Question

Hi All,

Great thread and I know its quit old but I have a question I need help on.

I have a 2004 3.0 X-Type with out Sat Nav, just the digital climate and a CD player (With multi changer).

I have purchased a Denso touch screen and heater control unit. (Not going for the full Sat Nav Install, just the screen for now).

My question is:
1. How does the CD communicate with the screen when you fix them together?
2. How does the screen communicate with the heater control unit?
Looking at the pin diagram of the screen, all I need is power, earth and illumination feeds. The rest of the pins seem to be for Sat Nav.

From what I have read on this thread, both heater control plugs go into the new black box. The CD keeps the same plug, aerial and fiber optic lead. I can supply power to the screen. Just want to make sure I'm not missing anything or need any more parts before I start to install.

I have put the pictures of What I have ready to fit.

Any and all help is very much appreciated.

John.

Dennis, thanks for creating this thread and documenting all of your installs. They've proved really useful for me, as I'm working towards integrating an android 8.9" netbook in a double-din housing.

I've got a question about steering wheel controls though. I can't see the wires for VOL +/-, SOURCE, MODE etc on your wiring diagrams, or how you've wired in your adapter. Have you got any info on that? (which wires and plugs etc?)

How do you display the A/C controls after putting the new screen? What make and model screen did you use?

Holy cow, that looks great!

That analog clock in the vent is one of those things on my list of wants but not needs...

If that is one made by that British guy, I should ask him how much they are.

But anyway, your touchscreen setup is amazing.
