Default New to Ownership of a 2003 X-Type 2.5

British Racing Green over tan. Purchased with 76K and very good interior and exterior. I've been looking for years and finally find one that is a good combination of price, mechanics, mileage, and over all condition. Bill in Ohio.

now just change your transfer case fluid so it won't blow up on you prematurely! Welcome to owning the best "budget" car!

Welcome to the forums. I think you will find it very interesting around here. We like to keep things lively and entertaining while providing useful information.

I have relatives in the Wooster area. So, if you see a car very similar to yours with Maryland plates, it will probably be me. So, welcome my fellow Buckeye.

Default Thanks for your thread comments!

When I took delivery of the Jag, I did have some mechanical work performed: plugs, transfer case, oil, general inspection, new tires, battery inspected, coolant checked, etc. I've been reading about the X-Type for many years and know that if I wanted to protect myself and my investment (?), then I would have to address a few items. For the first year of ownership, I can concentrating on mechanical work. But, I just had to have the '08 Supercharged grille! But I consider myself lucky enough that no cosmetic work needs to be performed. Thanks again for all of your great comments and for making me (and my Cat) feeling welcome!

>British Racing Green over tan

Welcome to the party, we've been waiting for your arrival!

Looking at the picture you posted are you sure it's BRG? From what I can see it looks very similar to my '05 which is a more emerald green than BRG.

The color of my car is listed a Jaguar Racing Green, which I think is much prettier than true BRG, which is really dull...

Cheers

Bill, what you think about:

This is what my car is like now. Mine started out looking like yours, but I have changed a few things around. I did the same treatment up front. My car is BRG. Jag did have a few shades of green that were very close to the BRG, but were not. THe BRG tends to change shade by doing really dark in any shade and almost a kelly green out in the bright sun. Atleast that is what my car does.

Not everyone agrees, but I think the mesh grille AND the lower mesh grille is the look you need to finish off your beautiful car!

Thanks! Well, mine might be Emerald; I'm not sure. I know that the front has had some paint work. Thanks for all of the great comments and I look forward to more communication with the group!

Very nice! Looks like the "sport" version! I get to Leesburg VA. My Brother lives near downtown in the River Creek development. I'm heading there this weekend. Bill

Wayne, keep an eye out in the Regional section. I am trying to get a BBQ set up for the Fredericksburg, VA area. If you are down this way, you will get to meet some of the members.

Default Thanks, everyone.

Ok. I am still learning the ropes on responding to posts. So, Thermo: thanks for the information about the upcoming (tentative) event! And, Bruce: I learned along time ago: do not make comments about someone's house, automobile, or significant other! If you like your mesh grilles, then good for you. I have the upper one on my 03 T-Type. Have a good day everyone! Bill here in Wooster OH (You've seen my ugly mug and my cat, so here is a front pic of my condo.)
