Ummm sorry but did you say the dealer when you went to get O2 Sensors asked if you checked for vaccum leaks? Then you also stated you put sensors in and problem exists still. Then you state short of going to dealer to get backside molested?
Outside shop advised sensors then dealer in their own way for free told you it was a vacuum leak and you still think they would rip you off?
I would loose the shop you have been going to and I hope you didnt pay them for that repair?

Dennis,

Where can I buy an Intake Air Control Valve, besides the dealer of course? I have the same symthoms with codes 171 and 174. I notice that there is some soot around the lower valve.

YOU NEED ORINGS FOR THE INTAKE TUNING VALVES(IMT'S) NOT THE VALVES THEMSELVES. AND I TOTALLY AGREE WITH FACTORY JAG, YOU GOT MOLESTED WHERE YOU WENT, NOT THE DEALER, THE DIFFERENCE WE WOULD HAVE AT LEAST GOTTEN IT RIGHT AND USED VASALINE....AND PEOPLE CALL US ***********S!!!!!!!HOW DOES THAT SAYING GO... THE BITTERNESS OF CHEAP STAYS AROUND ALONG TIME....MOST OF US DIAG THAT PROBLEM WITHOUT LOOKING AT IT, AND THOSE DOWNSTREAM SENSORS DONT MOVE LIKE THE UPSTREAM, IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOURE DOING YOUDE THINK THEY WHERE BAD TOO.......

Thanks Factory, Dennis, Genius and Brutal. Time to get the 0171/0174 codes and/or Lean Bank 1 and 2 into the FAQ section? Sure are a lot of folks newly discovering the vacuum leak problems as the weather is getting colder...

Read this post from XK8/XKR section and see if it helps P0171 & Restricted Performance - Jaguar Forums - Jaguar Enthusiasts Forum

Also go over the new member area and give an intro. You need to do this, it is part of the process to get full access to the forum.
