P2A01 O2 Circuit Range / Performance (Bank 1, Sensor 2)
Possible causes
Faulty Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1
Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 harness is open or shorted
Rear Heated Oxygen Sensor Bank 1 circuit poor electrical connection

Is this perhaps the one you just bought the "OEM" denso and replaced?

so is this odd?
all monitors passed
no check engine light but the P2a01 is still logged as a code but not tripping the CEL?

so i imagine it "should" pass an inspection/mot ???

I think that's all State specific. Here I had one pop up as I drove into the check station (had OBD going). Didn't set off the MIL & it passed. I even told JP (the owner) it has thrown the code as I entered his lot. He said no MIL and 1 here passes.

alas it dont look good!
today i thought id try just the new sensor without the mini cat.
the sensor would not go in the bung.
i went down with my little finger and found the bung was all bunged up with what i assume is a chunk of catalytic converter.
i was able to push it back and i could feel a lot of other chunks of what i assume was more catalytic converter inside.
i smashed up some big chunks into smaller chunks with a screwdriver but im sure the only answer is another cat.
dr dome has said he can do the work and is a drivable distance so if mashing the inards of my cat doesnt somehow miraculously work....then engine removal is rhe only fix.....well ya cant say i havnt tried everything else... lol

Sorry to hear that. I bought a cheap endoscope so I could take a look inside. Fortunately, the cat medium was in good shape for me. I’ve read on the forum that you are able to get the broken cat medium out, a regular cat couldbe added to the exhaust system at a more convenient place. May be worth looking in to.
