Default Powertrain malfunction light went on.

I have a 2004 xtype 3L. The power train malfunction light came on yesterday while i was getting off the highway and threw the car out of gear. The car would coast but wouldnt shift in to any of the gears. After 10 minutes I turned it back on and all was okay. Took it to a mechanic and it was spitting out a bunch of error codes. Please see below for those codes. Anyone have the same issue?

I cannot see the codes, but if you suddenly get a lot of random codes, that is most likely a weak battery or the alternator starting to go (more likely the battery).

Now that I can see the codes, you have a general assortment of codes. This is most indicative of a voltage issue with the car. I would first have a load test done on your battery. If they say that the capacity of the battery is 75% or less, get a new battery and have them not maintain the power to the car. Tell them to let the car go dead and then connect up the battery. This will clear all the codes. All that you will need to do is reset the auto up/down windows (hold a window in the down position till it reaches full down and then keep holding the button for another 2-3 seconds; may hear a faint click; then raise the window fully and keep holding the button for another 2-3 seconds; may hear a faint click; repeat for the rest of the windows). The only other memory that you may need to worry about is that in the radio.

If the battery is good, then what I want you to try doing is taking the car out for a drive (5+ miles). During the drive, have your headlights on, dash blower going at full speed, and both seat heaters going. After the drive and before you turn off the engine, stop the car and then open the hood/bonnet. Access the battery terminals and cup your hand over the battery terminal (DO NOT TOUCH!!!!!!!). Are the battery terminals warm (like the rest of the stuff under the hood) or are they extremely hot (ie, fry an egg on them)? if they are extremely hot, then you have a bad battery terminal and that battery cable will need to be replaced in the near future.

If you don't have either one of these conditions, then let me know and we will get to the bottom of things.
