radio wiring question
Hello everyone.
I am trying to replace the stock unit with an aftermarket. When I pulled out the stock unit I saw two plugs in the back.

Can anyone tell me what the white connector with the black center is? There are two black wires coming out of the back of the plug, so I thought at first it must be the ground, but the wiring kit I bought has a black ground wire that wires into the larger multi-wire plug.
Can someone shed some light on this for me?
Thanks,
Michael

Michael, what year car are we dealing with here? This can possibly alter the wiring some. Also, what level of radio system is in the car. The car came with 3 different levels of stereo, You have the basic system, you have the premium system (noted by tweeters in the front door door handles), and then you have the NAV system with the integrated heater controls. From there we should be able to figure out what information you need.
It's the D2B Fiber Optic connector, which is only of use if you have factory phone, voice, CD-changer, navigation or amplifier. Which I take it you don't or you probably wouldn't be putting in an aftermarket headunit.
