Default Rear hub carrier bush’s

The front bush’s on the rear hub carrier arms are looking a bit tired. Has anyone managed to replace them with out removing the whole hub carrier from the car. I was thinking if I took the bolt out and levered the arm down and put a block between it and the bottom of the car to hold it out of its bracket, I think there will be enough flex in the other linkages to give me a few inches. Then remove the bush and press a new one in with a tool made up from large sockets and threaded rod to pull the bush into the arm.
What do the experts think?

I've moved your question from UK & Eire Region to X-Type forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.
