Well my XJ8 meet an explorer and not the way one would want, but no one was hurt, but the cat is no more.

I got a 2004 X type wagon in mint condition and want to keep it that way my self, So i am looking for a shop manual for it that actually covers more than the owners manual, and hope that I could find something in Canada or the us that does the job.

Have the CD for the the XJ8 with I got with no problem but done seem to be able to find a CD for the X type, just down loads and is any body wants the XJ*8 either as a trade or to purchase just let me know.

Pantherman, something I will point out on your car that you need to find out first before buying anything is what month it was made. Keep in mind that in 2004, there were 2 completely different wiring harnesses for your car. There is what I will call the early and the later harnesses. The early harnesses were the same ones used on the 02-03 vehicles and these were used up through March 2004. Starting in April 2004, they went to a new style harness and this changed the fuse box numbering and how the wiring ran in the car. This is the later harness.

If you look in the driver's door jam, you will find the build month and year there. If you are after a set of wiring diagrams, I have both (early and later). PM me your e-mail addy and I will send you the wiring diagrams.

 

Or if you are more a Haynes manual person.

 

Thanks I have got a down load, Just as a side the Haynes seems to be out of print or just not available in Canada tried to order it through several suppliers and just not found now.
