This is the X-Type forum?
Is it front or rear suspension?

Need to narrow down front, back, left, right, under feet, by wheel, etc. to give helpful guidance. Shocks, loose components, dogbone, bushings, stabilizer bar(s), control rods, struts, strut bearing, etc. etc.

Not many miles on it, but (in my humble opinion) most common problem seems to be Front Stabiliser Link Rod(s). On the X-Type they are plastic rods, with normal steel bearings, but you can purchase steel link rods (which I put in on my car). Not an expensive item, available on eBay for around $30.00 each, and not hard to install. If this indeed turns out to be the problem, car doesn't need a wheel alignment after installation.

However, stabiliser bar bushes can also cause noise problems, and are a ******* to get out and in. I think your car is too low in miles to be them (yet). Get the car up on a hoist and check out the link rods for movement, as well as the stabiliser bar bushes. Good luck.
