Question Are these actual Jag rims for the 03 X-type?

I purchased my first Jag, an 03 X-type 2.5L, 5 speed automatic with Sports package a couple of weeks ago. I am thoroughly enjoying my new ride. I've been doing some research and I can't seem to find these particular rims. According to the manual that came with the car, I should have 17" tires/rims. But the tires are 16"s. So are these not actual Jaguar rims? I looked through the accessories catalog from Jaguar for the 03 X-type and they are not in there either. Any information would be greatly appreciated

Picture? There were 16's and 17's available. 17's were on the sports (dechromed cars) 16's were standard on 2.5 and 3.0. 2.5 had the multiple spoke design and the 3.0 had the five spoke with the line in the middle of the spoke.

Sorry, the picture showed up after I replied. That is the standard 2.5 wheel. If you have chrome on the bumpers, then those are the standard wheels that it was built with.

Those are factory wheels. Remember the X-Type tended to attract older buyers who equate ride quality with sidewall height, so while your car may have shipped with 17's or 18's, some older gentleman may have "improved" it with the smaller 16's to maximize sidewall height. I prefer 18"-20" wheels and I think my car with 20's rides perfectly fine - it really has to do with tire model and pressure - almost more than pure sidewall height.

I have another question about these rims if ya'll could please help me. I hit a pothole and dented my rim. The rim isn't bent that bad and I am hoping it can be fixed. I was looking at trying to find another one but I honestly dont understand the whole rim measurement thing, hey I'm trying to learn , Anyways, the tires that came on the car are 205/55/R16, and I also know that they are 5 lug. When I tried to look them up on ebay, it gave me the options of 16X7.5 or 17X7, which do I choose? Can't get ahold of my mechanic friend to ask please help

Nevermind, its been a very long day, I just answered my onwn question, duh??? 16 in tires, 16 in rims....... I'm going to sleep now for a lond needed sleep

carlina, if you need help, the wheels that you are seeing are (height)X(width) and the factory bolt pattern for the xtype is 5x108 which means there are 5 lugs (holes) spaced at 108mm apart from each other.

I think you need to identify the type of wheel that is and then look for one on EBay. My car has the standard Cayman wheel and I can find many for sale. The wheels go by name so if you can learn that you open up may possibilities for finding replacements.

So, group, does anyone know what kind of wheel it is?

Oh, and I don't really think size matters that much. You'll enjoy owning and driving the car regardless of whether it has 16" or 17" unless you're really planning on making a show car out of it. But as far as driving behavior unless your on a track or in an autocross you would never be able to tell the difference in wheel size.

Just my thoughts...

Here's a pic from Jag parts. I think you have the #4 wheel (only one with 10 spokes) Part # C2S002372

+1 on that, they don't really have a name like the other Jag wheels.

My parts list calls it a " style X 10 "

Default Correct Rims and Size

Those are Jaguar rims. 16 x 6.5. All good comments. I get my information from Midwest Wheel and Tire. Enjoy your ride! Bill in Wooster OH
