Trans and transfer case fluid check?
I have a 2004 X-type 3.0. I have already replaced the TC & Trans at 100,00 miles. Seems like when the trans goes it also takes out the TC, a dealer Jaguar mechanic told me. I would like to check fluids so I won't be going through this costly expense again. How do I check these fluids? Thanks for any input.

Attached are the procedures for the transmission and transfer case. You should get some kind of indication on the ground if you are having leaks and loss of fluid. The biggest cause of failure is the hard acceleration from a standing start. The transmission and transfer case just can't handle the stress. It is unusual for the transfer case to fail as a result of transmission failure. It's usually the transfer case fails first.
