I've seen a few threads with folks rebuilding their TCs but can't find a mention of what the torque should be for the large alignment shaft nut on the side of the case. Does anyone have a torque spec for this? Looking for a real number vs. torqueing it down to the same position.

I'm not asking about the output flange nut. I know that requires a rotational torque of 1.7Nm without the output part of the case installed/meshed with the rest of the TC.

 

Is it a but you are referring to or a bolt? Only thing I see on the side is the engine roll restrictor but it's a bolt. That is 80 Nm.

I honestly don't see that on the shop manual either. Is it the same bolt (size and material) as the companion flange retaining nut? I've not done this job so I don't know. If it is, most of the time toque is based on pitch,baize, material etc. of the actual hardware itself and can be derived from that.

 

I didn't see it in the FSM either.. I'll have to compare it to the output flange nut. I know there's a TSB for the output shaft seal that specifies 160Nm on the nut if that's the case. I'm also familiar with those default torque settings, I just want to be careful I'm at the correct setting since it'll pre-load the conical bearings on that shaft to some degree.
