Default Vibration at high way speeds?

hey,
I was just wondering if anyone had any advise for me. I have an 03 x with 60,000 miles on it. At highway speeds theres always a little vibration in the steering wheel and the whole car. The vib isnt all that bad, but its just annoying. I like haveing a smooth ride on the highway and this little vibration drives me crazy! I had new tires put on a couple months ago, michilen pilot exaltos. Nitrogen in the tires at the correct pressure. I had the place do road force balancing as well to have the best balance available. Any sugestions?

Hunter Road Force should take care of it

Okay..that's true Bo, But does apropeller shaft suddenly go out of balance?..wouldn'tthe propeller shafthave to be untrue from the beginning?..I'm assuming of course that Scuba just started to experience this vibration after many mileswith no problems....So that's what leads me to think it's the Tires..But you maybe right..I just don't see it as possible, if he's never had the problem before.

i had the same problem. the car was fine up to about 65. then between 65-75 a slight vibration. I had the tires checked and they said the rims where slighty bent. They put the bent rims on the back and it helped. I plan on replacing the rims in the spring and it should clear the problem. how are the roads where you live? the roads here are jacked up so a bent rim is no shock.

I also had the exact same problem. Any speed above 55mph I'd get a vibration. I also had new tires, balanced twice, then finally road force balanced. It did NOT fix the problem. Luckily I was still under warranty. I finally talked the dealer into replacing the drive/prop shaft. (They also thought it was a tire.) Well, that fixed it. Smooth as glass. It would have been expensive if it wasn't under warranty. The part alone was around $900! Good luck.

If your brake rotors are warped, could also cause shimmy in steering wheel at those speeds. 9/10 times though on x it is propshaft.
Try removing it at both ends (6mm hex) and rotate shaft 180 degrees. See if changes prior to buying new one.

Glad they fixed it..I'm aware of the Prop-shaft problem the X had..But the question yet to be answered..was this vibration there from the beginning, or did it appear a while after you had it?
