3M Adhesive? Or anything else preferred?

Yeah, I have that starting. I'm looking for a bit of flashing to extend the lip of the molding...

I have used the 3M trim adhesive in a spray can with good results. In your case, you would remove the plastic trim around the sunroof and then using a long ruler or something similar, pull some additional fabric free (this is done to prevent getting a ring of loose material just beyond what you just glued in a year or two). Then you use the spray can to apply a layer of the glue to the fabric and some to the ceiling. Give the adhesive about 30 seconds to start to set up. From there, you tap the fabric back into place and when the fabric touches the ceiling, it will immediately adhere. So, no need to have to figure out how to hold the fabric in place as the glue is drying. Once done, reinstall the sunroof trim and you should be golden for a long time to come.

Ok, here's what you do. Get some industrial velcro. Yes it exists. Run it along the roof just inside the lip, so-to-speak. It holds beautifully. Run it the entire width. Mine has held.
