What to do with left foot?

RE: What to do with left foot?
Do some push ups - lol!
I have close to an hour commute and my foot just sits there. Eventually my heel goes numb, but it comes nback real quick. I like sitting further back than I have to, just a driving style I guess. Most of the time I am driving with the right hand leaning towards the drivers side window and then after a while I go the other way, but usually driving with one hand holding the center of the wheel.

thanks for the picture... it was the X-Type we wanted to see. Do you have any of the X-Type?

visualize a thin piece of wood veneer, roughly the same size and shape as that pedal in the pic, but solid, placed in the same spot, with a lighter color carpet. I know you can do it!

A Solution - if a little late in the day.
Only acquired the car last October. It's still done less than 50,000 miles and is in very good order.
Like others here, I was dismayed to find nowhere sensible for my left foot when not operating the clutch. After a 300 mile drive, I was left with a swollen ankle, so ended up searching for a footrest.
Racing Green Jaguar will provide you with one but charge GBP 150.00 for the privilege. On the other hand, you could buy part number A111A0103F from Bell & Colvill for just over GBP 21.00 including UK postage. It's a Lotus Elise (I think) part. Picture attached. On my RHD X-type, it's fairly simple to bolt it to the carpet-covered (substantial) plastic trim panel on the gearbox tunnel. The panel is detachable, so you can drill bolt holes and fix the footrest off the car.
With an assistant, position the part where you would like it and mark the 3 mounting positions. As my X-type has dark grey carpet, we used Tip-X correcting fluid to mark our drilling points. Take off the trim panel. Mostly, it's fixed with clip-on fasteners but there is at least one self tapping screw hiding behind the drivers seat cushion. It's best to fit your fixing bolts with their heads on the inside to avoid problems with re-fitting the trim panel and you might need to slightly adjust the footrest angle to avoid the front fixing point interfering with one of the panel supports. Replace the trim panel: Job done.
