Default X type 2.5 manual vs S type 3.0 manual

I currently have a 2004 X type with a 2.5 and a 5 speed stick. I love the car, only there is a small problem... a large tree fell on it. It runs and drives perfectly fine (luckily just the canopy hit the car, not the trunk) but pretty much every panel needs replacing. I am a bit worried the insurance of the tree owner won't pay the $10k (or maybe more) to repair the car and have been looking for backups in case they don't. I found a 2003 S type 3.0 sport with a 5 speed manual for pretty cheap and was wondering if people could chime in comparing this to my 2.5 X type. I am mostly concerned with how the S type will drive as I have never driven one.

How does a manual 3.0 S type compare to a manual 2.5 X type as a drive?

Thanks for any input!

Try asking in the S-Type forum as there are people there who've gone X -> S. I doubt they had manuals, though, as the autobox on the 2003+ S-Type is so good.
