X-Type Not Starting

X-Type Not Starting

I have a 2.0 litre Sport with manual.gearbox
It was running fine earlier, parked up at home, few hours later I went to go out, but it wouldn't start, engine turns but wont fire

I have checked fuel, Oil, and a different key fob.
Any Ideas what I should check next?

Have you checked spark?

Diesels dont have spark boss. weak or clogged fuel pump/ filter, you sprayed some starting fluid in the intake? Can it push start?

Sorry I should have said it is Petrol, Not Diesel.

ohhhh, i coulda sworn 2.0 was diesel as it wasnt offered in the states.

sometimes x types get flooded.. if spark fuel and compression are good.

Yeah, I guess your'e right, I just checked my logbook and it is a 2099 CC V6 Sport
Not a 2.0 Litre

Can't really smell any excess petrol that would be Asscotiated with flooding,
I will check the spark in the morning.

I now have a solution to the problem,
it went to a jaguar dealer today and
they said that the fuel pump had burnt out and would cost Â£456.00 inc of labour and VAT
to fit a new one,

Oh well gotta have it done.
