Hey guys can anyone hit me with an R&R for the o3 x-type radiator? I gotta get this thing replaced ASAP.

 

Konshu, look on e-bay. You can get a radiator for your car for anywhere from $145 to $350+ depending on whether you want a brand new one or a slightly used one. Replacing a radiator in our cars is not that difficult. So, if you have some basic mechanical skills, you can replace it yourself and save yourself a lot of money. If you pay a shop to replace it for you, plan on spending about $600 to have it done.

 

Thermo is spot on with his advice to purchase an ebay radiator. I've used them on several other marques-no worries. SOMETIMES a tank can repaired with eboxy and some fine stranded wire-again, that's SOMETIMES...then you get to think about the possibility of your repair failing at the worst location on earth (you pick the location)...just buy the cheap ebay radiator and put it in yourself...OR...buy a case of brew,get a petrol head buddy to install the radiator, then and ONLY then bring out the beer for some bench racing. thanks fellas. picked up one today for $200. now in the garage and dont know what to take off 1st. got all the prelims out of the way but detatching the radiator from the car looks like it has a certain protocol. Fans 1st?

quick update fellas: R&R done, test drive went on a 12-15 mile run but by the time I got back home it was overheating. So....gotta check that out but Thanks for all your help.

 

Hows it going fellas?...I also need to replace my radiator and I was hoping I could do it my self since the dealer was charging me $1,200.00!!! What are these straps I need to hold the ac condenser with? Is there an easier way to remove the radiator or is this the only method? Thanks for the help

 

One more thing how do I perform a coolant flush? Do I just drain, fill with water, run the car and drain again?
