Angry x type start up issues

Hi folks, I am hoping you can sort me out as I have come to the end of my tether. I have an x-type 2.2 ltr diesal and my issues still prevail no matter what I try. There are two problems, maybe related maybe not. The first one is when I turn on the car the glowplug light comes on and the message gearbox problem shows in the warning box. The car will bairly move after a big clunk if I put it in gear(its automatic). If I turn the car off and wait a couple of minutes it starts normally. Seems to be worse in cold weather but That may not be the case. Secondly, and this has been an issue for a long time now. The dreaded dpf. I wanted to take it out and clean it, but it turns out whoever had the car before me had beaten a whole the whole way through the filter so I bought a new one. I also replaced the erg and dpf sensor. However it still shows up as dpf full with the red light. I think its electrical but as I am an idiot when it comes to cars, I must now bow down before all of the members here and ask for ideas before I weld to pipes to the back of it, saw the top of it off and use it as an expensive wheel-barrow. Thanks in advance for any help. Larry

You will need to get it put on a diagnostic system to get them reset try your local garage they should be able to do it for you as most full diagnostic systems will do it tell them you have a new dpf as it will have to be put in as well hope this helps
