hi guys i have a 2005 jag xtype touch screen that has gone blank and the lcd reads 50 51 can someone please tell me how to fix this tanx joe

51/52 means head is not talking to dvd unit, yellow blue twisted pair.

did the screen suddenly go blank or did you get into the menu and press the update button?

if you pressed the update button then you need the LOADING.kwi file fix.
if not then
down by where your left foot is when you drive (left hand side when sitting in the car) are some connectors. check the Blue plug 16 wires in it look at pin 2 yellow and pin 14 blue) and make sure its good this is the communication wire that x-type-lpg was talking about.
another connection is under the back seat so i doubt that has been damaged.
also check the connections on your DVD unit in the trunk/boot and behind the screen.

if you know how to use a meter check continuity between the dvd unit and the screen. let me know if you need instructions on how to do this.

 

Buddy I'm very frustrated just can't seem to fix this 50 51 problem I have in my car I've done everything.... Now I'm thinking that the problem is the navigation system unit where you put the dvd In case wen I put it in the cd doesn't sound like it's spinning or turning...... ma Wat do I do

 

i had a problem with my 2005 jaguar xtype navigation screen.....
i cant remember the person who i spoke tp for help.....so id like to say thankyou for the help......it wasnt easy but we eventually got there...in your help comment you said after putting in the burn cd to rebbot the screen....wait for a coffe break and it should be ok....it did not work like that....so i just left the burned cd in the cd navigation stacker fora few days while i was doing my normal everyday driving...and guess what after 3 days the screen just poped up and everything was back to normal,,,,,,the only differance was the jaguar symbol logo backround used to be green with white jaguar it now is black with white jaguar,,,,,once again tanx
