Is this a normal sound

curious what you fellows think of this sound. Not sure if it’s a tick or just all in my head. Note that it is a bit chilly in my area, 20 degrees Fahrenheit.
car is a 35t with 12k miles. Serviced recently at 10.5k. Can’t say I’ve really paid close attention in the past which is on me, but any input would be appreciated.

For a 2017 with only 12K miles?.............WOW.
Sounds normal to me. Was the engine cold or the engine hot when you took this video? You said it was serviced recently, was the right oil viscosity used? Thicker oil tends to make ticking noise upon start-up (most evidently on freezing temperatures) & then disappear within minutes as the engine warms up.. Is the car parked outside? If it is, normally you will hear all sorts of things when you start the engine after a rainstorm or heavy fog as the moisture on the engine's moving parts (like squeaking serpentine belts, squeaking brakes, etc.) begins to interfere on the moving parts. It will soon disappear within minutes as the moisture evaporates or the rust on the brake rotors been cleaned up by the brake pads as you drive.

indeed a very low mileage, 11.8k and some change.
on to the questions though. This was after a 12 mile drive, parked for 2 hours, followed by a 12 mile ride back so the engine was warmed up, but the sound is louder upon first start up.
As for oil, the car was serviced at a JLR dealer so I hope to god they would be wise enough to use to right oil. Car is garage kept as well, parking outside only happens when I’m out and about.
I'm leaning toward fuel injectors clicking in colder temps given a review video I saw last night. Just seemed a bit louder than I’d expect. Don’t drive it enough during winter to really know how loud it normally is now.
Where I live, I only fill up fuel only to these 3 gasoline stations. I would add BP, but none exists in my area.
1) Chevron (Techron) Premium
2) Shell (V-Power Nitro+) Premium
3) Exxon (Synergy) Premium
I agree with you on that, Sir. You need top tier Premium (High Octane) gasoline for best results in cleaning the car's engine. Top Tier fuel comes with anti-knocking properties that eliminates ticking/knocking/pinging sound you hear on the engine.

Lucky I’m in a state that offers 93 octane. Only use 93 octane from shell, but will also add for those out there that Costco provides high quality fuel as well. If it wasn’t a 20 min drive followed by a usual 10 min wait given lines I’d use them instead.
On a completely unrelated topic, I do plan on replacing the current tires soon here with some p4s (bmw star). Can’t wait to see how it changes going from AS to a summer tire. Read nothing but great things regarding the p4s in terms of ride quality, noise, and of course performance.

Hmm, If I were you, I'd go back to JLR or give them a call & have a discussion with the service advisor after an oil change they did to your car that you hear a ticking noise.
Maybe someone on this forum might want to chime in & give their ideas.

Edit: just got off the phone with the tech and he said it’s pretty common with the v6 and maybe do a full fuel injector cleaning next time I go in for service. Indicated that it still may “tick” after, but if anything bad was occurring the dummy light would flick on. Not a fan of relying on the dummy light, but I’ll take their word for now.

Fuel injectors were cleaned during the last service in December, but I may opt for the full cleaning service (w/e that is) come March or so.
Reading around about DI, it seems like the sounds isn’t a terribly uncommon thing especially at colder temps.
Just took it for a quick trip now and it was much more muted compared to last night. Temps here climbed to a balmy 45 degrees F so the cold weather theory appears to be in play.
good to know. I may have gotten hosed last time around, but wasn’t going to throw a fit about cleaning the injectors for $70. Peace of mind is worth more than that to me.
I have the AJ126 (V6) in my F-type, and it's a very noisy engine; I don't hear anything unusual in your video. I've never run the F-type at 20 degrees, as I have summer tires. (And my F-type and XE each visits MI at least once per year, as I'm native Michigander.)
phew, I’m fairly certain I’m good. Which tires are you using? Ordering P4Ss myself and look forward to them vs my current A/S.
