Default Brake pad error after replacement

Hi all - my 2009 JAGUAR XF V6 LUXURY, has just had a service and front brake replacement - I had the "brake pads low error". After replacement and sensor check the computer error we are getting is U0415-00 Invalid data received from ABS control module - no subtype information.

Would welcome any ideas! I have seen some suggestions about disconnecting the battery or possible handbrake issues. My local garage is at a loss and Canterbury Jag can see it in March sometime if I want to book! Thanks all

Have you cleared the codes and see if they come back?
U codes are network related and it's not unusual to get errors that don't repeat due to transient electrical fluctuations.

Does the ABS still work? Is there a dash light?

If you clear the code how soon does it come back?

Thanks both! Yes it clears but returns after about 30 seconds of driving. There are no dash errors or lights except the "Brake pads low" on the main display ....

Reading around the forum and I did have a battery low warning after the service which went away - I am beginning to wonder if its the battery related. Going to have that checked and will get back with the results

Sometimes the low pad warning lead is faulty as new. Get it replaced as faulty.

What code reader are you using? I think you will find you need to use a Jaguar specific unit to drill down on the ABS module codes. You won't get the detailed info on a generic reader.
Did they disturb the wheel speed sensors when they changed the pads? I would look at those closely.

Why would the car say “brake pads low” if the speed sensor is damaged?

They probably broke one of the pad sensors putting in the pad - they’re tricky little buggers to fit.
I did away with mine by making jumpers up and plugging them into where the pad sensors plug in.
I use my eyes to check how my pads are now

"Code we are getting is U0415-00 Invalid data received from ABS control module - no subtype information."

Did you read the original post properly? Why would you get this code being thrown if it's just the pad sensor that has already been replaced?
