Default Sudden and uncontrolled acceleration

good morning everyone,

this is my first post. I am Belgian, 62 years old, retired from lumber business, and I have a beautiful XF mod 2015 bought new in 2016; this vehicle still was unsold at this time probably due to an order cancellation from another customer. I had a good price for it. But this XF was 100% new, with all the guarantees.

It happened something strange to me, on the highway between Nice and Cannes in France : my XF accelerated suddenly, at high speed, in very dense traffic (4 lines in the highway, all very busies), and I couldn't stop the vehicle !

Finally, using the brakes very carefully to merge into the traffic making some deathly "gymkhana" at high speed, I could stop the vehicle on the side of the highway.

During the three minutes it happened, I thought my life was finished...

My Jag dealer brought the XF back to Belgium on a truck, for expertise.

After 1 month expertise, with factory engineers, they officially found nothing ! Everything is correct !

I asked to replace this deadly vehicle (mod 2015, bought 2016, 15.000kms at this time), but Jaguar officially answered : we don't do anything, the vehicle is correct.

I have seen on this forum the same experience happened to someone. But too long for me and too difficult to read in english.

Are there some gentleman on this forum who experienced the same situation ? May I contact them to see what to do ?

with my great gratitude for your help (sorry for my english !)
friendly,

My first thought was "Diesel Runaway" syndrome whereby the engine runs on its own oil due to dilution from diesel fuel.

Could well be.

I'd not realised an XF could have such an engine. 2.2D. Just say no.

Sounds like engine runaway resulted from improper fuel that created spontaneous combustion. In all the testing the dealer performed was there any fuel analysis? And do you have a receipt from the fueling station where you last filled up?

Apart from "diesel runaway", it could be bad software in the ECU, because diesels are controlled solely by the fuel supplied to the engine, there is no throttle valve in the inlet manifold at all, so an non-driver demanded supply of fuel to the engine can only come from an error in the electronics that drive the fuel injectors.
