Hi Can anyone please help
Xf 58 plate 2.7d auto ,the battery light came on and all the lights on the dash went off with faults on the dash gearbox fault,abs fault and the engine malfunction indicator was on in amber ,I changed the battery and am still getting the same stuff ,cut out on me and will not start

what do you mean read the codes? I don' have codes

 

Well, your car has them stored. You need to find a Jaguar agent or specialist and get the codes read and assessed. The software will translate the code into a text message indicating the fault area. Most modern cars have these nowadays. It can be as simple as a bad earth, sometimes.

 

Or purchase a OBD11 code reader then you can pull down the codes and list them here, someone will respond.

 

Yep - definitely need to have the car scanned for codes to see what's been logged.


Did you have any other symptoms before battery light came on and vehicle died?


Have seen problems with ground connection that's below headlights on XF's....

 

What year is your XF??

 

I think this thread needs moving to the one for XFs up to 2015.
