I had exactly the same problem with the first seller and after they didn't replace the faulty canbus box I contacted PayPal and the money was transferred back to my account. I offered to send the head unit back if they payed for it and haven't heard anything from them since. I bought a second unit from a different seller on aliexpress and all is fine. If you find out where to get a new one let me know 👍

Hi All, finally received the RHD version of Tesla screenfor my 2015 XF 250. Thanks to Dennis for the great videos. All working ok but may have the dreaded Chinese characters in the instrument cluster problem. Will work on this tomorrow. Can I use the factory microphone and gps antenna? I suspect not with the microphone but was wondering on the gps if a fakra male to sma female would bridge the cables. Does anyone know if this would work.

Suspect I don’t have the cable that bridges the stock GPS (blue connector I think) to the new Tesla style unit. Keep up the videos…. Brett

Has anyone used this head unit as a dash cam? I'm thinking of using the supplied front cam and OEM rear cam as a dual camera dash cam setup that automatically boots and starts recording when I start up the system. Is this possible?

 

it has all the inputs for it , im doing a 360 degree birds eye view cameras install witch has a built in recorder ,if some one tampers with your car it stats recording ,when it gets warmer ill make a video

 

Dennis, in a bind here, maybe you can help—looked at a beautiful 2009 XF yesterday, has the Tesla upgrade installed—we tried for a while to get radio on, could not get it to work—after our test drive, we parked that car and about 3 minutes later the alarm randomly started going off—I would love to buy the car, it’s a great price and low mileage but I’m concerned the install is not done correct— is there anything simple I can check? Thank you for all your support on this

Correct, no sound at all from the speakers—not even static —the volume went up and down in the screen and we tried manually tuning to local stations, not a sound was heard —the salesman at the dealer said it had to be connected to Wi-Fi?

 

look in the glove box or under the armrest and see if you can find a usb wire input

 

Tell salesman or manager to fix it or go to Jaguar and or audio business and get a quote to revert back or repair existing issue… or I’ll walk. If the dealer traded it in locally they can always contact previous seller and ask for input. Look at carfax to see where it’s from.

Hopefully it’s a quick fix… please post results.

 

Sidenote, do you still own your Lexus GS… we have 4 Lexus/ Toyota products and love them.. reliability and build quality is superb. Thx for the quick responses—the USB was hanging out of the shifter console ( by drivers leg)—- I did tell them to straighten it out and I would gladly come back again—they said they would reach out to the tech and also said they still have the original radio set up— I will get an update
