Default 2010 xfr, p0236

I'm recently having the P0236 fault code pop up on my 2010 XFR. After 5 or 6 restarts, it'll clear on its own. Any ideas on the specific issue that might be happening?

Right. It's a boost sensor of some sort. I think the title is a generic code, so it would relate to the supercharger.

Yarg... Found it. MAP sensor is dead. Intake has to come off to get to that one. This should be fun.

Thanks for reporting back! It always helps the next guy.

Are you going to change the MAP? It would be a great write up if you did?

I had this code a week ago (2011 XFR). It cleared up on itself and hasn't come back (yet). I have a Bluetooth OBD II reader and cleared the memory codes from my phone.

BTW, how did you determine the MAP sensor was dead?

The code comes and goes. I just received a recall notice for the jag due to another emissions related code. Might have that fixed first and then see if I still get the code. If it doesn't I'll probably look to replace in October when it's not 110 degrees outside.

I have a wifi OBII scanner to pull / erase the codes. Can't beat a $16 hardware device from China and a good iOS app!

I tried for about 12 hours to get to the MAP sensor and was never able to get to it. I put it all back together and bit the bullet to take it to the dealer. Ended up just being a vacuum leak. DOH!

I think I have another one now though as the car is running pretty rich.

Where was a vacuum leak? I've already changed MAP and MAPT sensors but P0236 appears again I hate it)

i don't know specifically as I ended up taking it to the dealership. My understanding from them was that it was the main gasket on the supercharger.

Shouldn't have to take the intake off. It's in the back below the throttle body, should be fairly easy to get to. Take the intake off pipe off, remove the throttle body, and it'll be just below.

Sorry I got mixed up, was thinking about the 4.2L, you should have the 5.0L, that being te case, I believe there are 2 map sensors, one in the front next to the throttle body, and one in the back. Being its an XF, there will be less room to get to it, but it can be done with some patience if you take the wiper arms and cowling trim off.
