I took apart the passenger door and wrapped all of the cables inside that cause rattles, but recently the passenger window has been rattling on bad roads. When I have the passenger put pressure on the glass, the rattles are gone. Has anyone else had this issue and know a way to fix it?
You’ll need to take it apart again and kinda really gently hit it until you pinpoint the rattle
Not with a hammer! More the heel of your hand
If you break it, you’ll never find me!
Already did exactly that, the rattle is around where the upper door frame meets the glass, not sure where to go from there. All of the speaker grills and wiring inside the door has been padded. I wanted to see if anyone else had this issue.
Take the door card and speaker panel off. Stick your hand up the hole. Start banging while holding the glass at different positions. When the rattle stops, you’ve found the problem area.
It’ll be something daft - guaranteed!
I tested fully closed and partly open, rattles in both scenarios. I need to check fully open.
I wonder if the rear channel has become loose somehow. From memory, there are 2 screws that secure it to the inner door; one high and one low. This channel needs to be loosened to remove the window glass. If you’ve replaced a lock mechanism, then it may have become loose.
