All kind of errors displayed on cluster
Just went for a 10 minute drive so I can test out the torque app. As soon as I parked all kinds of stuff started happening on the dash. I was trying to search before posting but I don’t know what to look for specifically.
How old is your battery? A dying battery is the most common cause for a random slew of errors like this. Either that, or the OBDII adaptor you're using to test Torque is causing noise or similar on your Canbus network.
I just bought the car a few days ago and never checked the age of the battery. My 2004 Volvo used to behave odd when the Battery was low. I didn’t think newer cars would still do that. If the obd adapter is causing an issue then it’s a first for me. I’ve never had a car react to it. Always a first I guess. I’ll report back after taking a look. Thanks.
Battery is a newer batter about 3 years old. Started the car up and all the other lights that were on before disappeared but there was a message about some sort of transmission error. I think I read in one of the other threads someone had the same issue due to the battery. I used another odb app to look up codes and all the issues from before were still there. Cleared the codes and nothing popped up yet. The voltage through the app bounced between 13.8 and 14.2. What am I looking for the battery to be at?
Torque may have a compatibility issue with the car. Remove torque and attach an OBDII reader capture the codes then clear them and see if they come back again. If they do not then I would say Torque was the problem.

To get you back on the road you need to clear the codes and see what comes back to see what is real and not caused by the use of Torque. My bet is that the Bluetooth device you are using is faulty you not compatible with the car.

A standard OBD code reader will help you with the basic codes. A jag specific one is good for extra functionality. I use the iCarSoft LR2 which reads jag specific modules, a few extra features. About $120
Sounds v likely to be battery. Either just undercharged from not being used much recently. Or battery could be old
Use voltmeter to get a view of current charge state. Engine off you should be around 12.7/12.8v if it's an AGM battery, 12.6 if Normal lead acid
Engine running alternator on mine usually gives out a bit over 14V
Go on a long drive and see if that charges it!

I’ll give it a shot tomorrow. I have multiple Bluetooth obd devices I can try. They are at least 8 years old so it may be time to look into a newer unit.

I was looking into getting the Jaguar sdd software just I have as many options as possible. Now I have to get a new voltmeter since mine doesn’t seem to be working anymore. Are there two batteries on this car?
There is only 1 battery on a 2010 XFR.
By the way, I use Torque Pro with a Wi-Fi adapter on my 2010 XFR and don't have a problem. I would put money on a low charge or even a bad battery, age is not relevant as they can die suddenly, as I found out a while ago.

I use the Torque app with a Kiwi OBD adapter, no issues.
I have seen OBD II BT adapters cause issues like draining the battery after being left in the car. Weak battery will be easy to pull charge down so that you get issues.

I agree! I have been using Torque for years but not on my XF yet. Could be the battery or the Bluetooth device. Let us know what you come up with.
