Default Are all XF sunroofs noisy?

I bought mine as a CPO from out of state, the sunroof was loose, was actually sitting 1/4" lower than the roof line and the headliner was hanging lower than it should and very loose, so the dealer in my area took care of it.

Spent two days being repaired because all the screws holding the sunroof in we're rolling around in the headliner and needed all new clips to hold the headliner in place. They ordered parts overnight and got it done quickly.

The sunroof was flush with the roof line, and was quiet unless I was on a bumpy road (like most in the area) and at every bump something was rattling. The headliner was fixed and looks great now.

Now that the weather has turned colder, the roof is noisy all the time.

I hate being a nagging customer, my local dealer is working with me but I feel bad because I did not buy it from them but am asking them to fix it.

I figured buying a well made car would give me a smooth, quiet ride.

How any of us have a quiet car?

Does anybody have a sunroof that does not rattle at every bump? And I am not sure it is the glass making noise, it sounds like wires and track pieces loose.

My car is quiet as a church even with 20" rims. The roof did get creaky in the spring and the dealer fixed it. Hasn't made a noise since. Incidentally I had an 11 Audi A8 for the day this week. Quite creaky inside. Was surprised.

Default Do all sunroofs make noise

I have a 2012 xjl that has the roof creaking popping rattling issues. Each time I had it in for service I've been given xf,s as loaners. The last one was basically brand new with 1500 miles. The sunroof wiggled at all speeds especially at slow speeds and made a horrible creaking stretching type noise going in and out driveways and turning into parking lot entrances . I can't figure out why jaguar is having so many problems with sunroofs and the glss panoramic roof on xjs . But I doubt I ever buy another jaguar. All the rattling creaking noises in the roof and horrible resale value. There is a lot of talk about the seals getting dusty and causing the speaking noises. But this is ridiculous. I've had Mercedes and Lexus and never ever had a sunroof make noise. It is unacceptable for jaguar!

Sunroof on my current 2012 XF doesn't make a sound. Neither did the sunroof on my 2009 XF.

If it starts making sound (once in two months) , I just open it while I am driving and close it. Dust goes away and no noise for the next two months

After almost two years, my sunroof makes no noise whatsoever under any circumstances.

Mine is chronically creaky if I do not clean the dust off the rubber seal with silicone spray on a rag every two months during dry summer weather. In rainy areas I expect this would be unnecessary.

With the amount of money you probably spent for the car, go ahead and nag.

Netting is for wind control. It is mesh to allow air to flow through it. It is not designed to catch anything! Too bad they couldn't duplicate the X Type sunroof which required no pop up deflector.

Mine creaked and the dealership said it was pretty dirty so cleaning it out seemed to have made it better. No squeaks in the last month so I'll see how things go.

So, what lube spray do you guys use (even though I think this is crap that this is how we need to keep the roof quiet)?
