Nobody's modding the XF NA's? I was hoping for some real life experiences.

That's what I was thinking. What kind of numbers could they achieve out of the NA 5.0?

From what I read the $$$ for the tune, exhaust, intake the increase in MPG and HP is way not worth it on a N/A XF.

Its pretty easy to pick up a second 0-60 with a NA XF, you trade it on a supercharged XF.

Damn, I told my wife I needed another forced induction vehicle.

Well, this thread has ruled out the tune for me. What about the exhaust? You guys think it worth the sound upgrade? I'm thinking about asking my mechanic friend that makes custom exhausts to make something for me. And slap a pair of K&N's on.

Ur thoughts?

I think the Mina gallery exhaust is the best bang for the buck, but if you want the ultimate get the Varex mufflers for your ride : XForce. Performance Mufflers, Exhaust Systems & Accessories. About the Varex™ remote controlled Sports muffler.

Thx for info. Varex looks interesting but I haven't had much luck with electric cutouts. The heat, water, rust are killer. IMO they almost look like a muffler with a Ford window motor on top.

I'm going to give Mina a shot...I'll report back after install. Hoping for this weekend but got my twins b-day party so not sure if I'll be able to sneak out to garage.

Whoa, these are not your typical cut outs. They are not exposed to the extreme elements like all the others. The Varex units are really good and there is 2 members here that run them. If you have the coin for them I would do them...

tagging along for any xrf-s update... agreed now that I'm used to the 510 hp I'd like to see 600 one day. I do have to be very conscientious of heat with this being an AZ car though (pulley's scare me).

We need a cheaper tune/air intake option. A stock cts-v with just a cold air intake and tune dynod at 500 rwhp

It should be around $1000. How many forum members besides you purchased the tune? Not too many if any at all. But.... If it was priced lower then I'm sure many more will bite the bullet and go for it.
For what it's worth, I've also done the ECU Tuning Group tune, based on many offline conversations with BigCat and his thorough documentation (big thanks for all his help and insight). I did the tune about a month ago, in conjunction with my previously installed Mina pulley, K&N panel filters, and homegrown free flow exhaust (swapped rear center resonator for X-pipe and have remote controlled cutouts before the stock rear can mufflers). Because I haven't had it on a dyno, I can't say for sure where the HP/TQ numbers fall, but I do know that it's extremely fast(er). And, I can vouch for the reliability of the tune over the past month and the ease of install, which I did in my garage in just a few minutes. So, while I, too, think it's very expensive compared to other tunes I've done on other cars, it was the best option available at the time and price is always ultimately relative/subjective. For me, once the reliability was proven, the ROI was there and I pulled the trigger. "Jags" at ECU Tuning Group was phenomenally responsive before and after the tune, and has even offered to give me a discount on another tune, if I decide to do the same to my wife's new Range Rover Sport Supercharged (same engine as my XFR).

I just installed the Mina exhaust. The post for the muffler on the exhaust side had to be lengthened to avoid hitting the bumper. The right side was a good fit all the way around. I attached some pics. I'm not sure how long it may take for the muffler to "burn in" but it sounds pretty good. A very nice deep growl. I now get some back fire if I rev the engine. Any thoughts on how to eliminate it? Andrew

Does anyone know of a distributor here in the US that sells these? I love the idea of not having them open up until you hit a certain RPM. Makes the wife happy and me!

Any idea of ballpark pricing as well?

I would have liked to get a SC 2012 but I think I started looking a bit too late and I don't know if there were anymore in Canada.
I actually didn't even know that you could get a SC in Canada, I thought there was only the 5.0 and then the XF-R?

In 2010 years this was the case. Had to bring mine in from the states. May have been the case in 11 and 12.
