Blind Ambition
I own a 2009 XF 4.2 SV8 that seems to have every option except the rear sunblind.
So I bought one out of a 2010 vehicle for $200 which is already mounted on the parcel shelf/rear deck trim and intend to fit it soon. I bench tested it and much to my surprise it works perfectly. I also purchased an overhead console module with the sunblind switch to swap or use for donating parts as needed.
Before I commence the project and start to dismantle the vehicle, would anybody out there know if the existing wiring loom/harness has the correct number of wires to facilitate this change or will I need to add them? Same question repeated for fuses and relays?
My vehicle already has the sunroof option.
Any help would be much appreciated.

do you have digital television and heated front windows( I assume adaptive cruise and steering wheel heat is by default on those models ) ?
yes, I have those options plus adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring etc but not the sunblind. I am thinking that because the back window is tinted, the original owner thought it was an unnecessary duplication but I just wanted to do it as a simple (Hopefully) first project.
its always starts as first
next project all XFR interior except dashboard(i have spice interior and xfr also is brown so those hem stich are nearly same colour) wonder how to make those airbubled seats work on turns in sv8) in spring complete front from 2014 XFRS will follow.
I'm talking like youngster, but i love this car!

I just wanted older engine and newer options ( have same car as yours) , already fitted new facelifted speedometer(custom) steering wheel from 2015, R badge interior, new climatotronic panels from 2015( didnt fitted- needed to buy two new to make one for heated front windows as facleifted is have front heated window also have heated seat button which is not needed for me)

In fact I have similar issues myself but consider it to be an addiction with very few harmful side effects apart from the bottom line of my bank account.
Good luck with all your planned mods and please send me a few pictures.

Installed the parcel shelf with the sun blind option last weekend and the overhead console with the extra switch.
I put a lot of effort into making sure that the rear shelf would not have any excuse to rattle but to no avail. Swapped a few things around here and there with the overhead unit.
Apart from that, it just simply worked first time.
Plug and play.
