Default Can someone tell me if their Jaguar Symbol on the steering wheel has a dent?

I am not 100% sure if it's suppose to be like this but my jaguar symbol on the steeling wheel has a dent around the center(but it's not 100% center. I'm not sure if it's suppose to be like this to give it more texture?..Or was it the result of someone punching the horn? I got mine slightly used so I have no idea. It's a 2013 XF.

Someone punched the horn, it's a pretty common issue (luckily mine has survived un-punched).

Dang it, so I think I found the part.

Jaguar Metal Hood Bonnet Steering Wheel Center Emblem Sticker Upper Grille Decal | eBay

Anyone know how to install one of these? From the picture, I think the original is glued on.

I'd be very careful about sticking a metal emblem on the center of the airbag - the one you point to on ebay doesn't look like an original Jaguar part and could be very dangerous if the airbag were to ever deploy.

Lots of people seem to have had this issue - apparently due to hitting the horn hard...
e.g.
https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...bag-xf-112180/

If you search the forum there were some posts (from XF owners) about this maybe 3-4 months ago - someone had a creative solution involving using gorilla tape to stick onto the decal and pull the dent back out again. Apparently worked pretty well - more details in their thread.

Good luck!

I've got the same problem and haven't found a solution yet. But, what's occurring to me now is that the paintless dent removal technique might work nicely on this...

I have a dent in mine as well...was going to get the dealership to replace it under the "new car warranty" and they apologized and said it would cost them too much. Apparently you have to replace the entire airbag assembly just to replace the logo...they quoted me $1000 CAD...I decided I could live with it.

They did replace some of the wood panelling on the drivers door which had a crack down it though for free so that was nice of them.

Funny mine is dented too but it's so smooth that I just thought it was designed that way. I did buy my car 2nd hand from a 73 year old gentlemen so I'm surprised he hit it hard enough to dent it. Then again he did live in LA so I suppose the horn got more use than it will here in Boulder, Colorado. Fortunately mine looks good enough that I'll just leave it.

Ditto here.
I thought it was how they came out of the factory until I saw a new one and noticed that it was convex rather than concave.

Plus one for dented steering wheel.

Whoever heard of a luxury car manufacturer having steering wheels that dent?

Ridiculous.

Was thinking about this and I'm wondering if anybody had any paintless dent removal experience?

Would something like this potentially work?
