Default Console painting and buttons

Not looking for any experts here or anything. but i really like the interior of Jaguar 2012+ models. The interior were the buttons have a black color contrast.

Is there any way that you can paint the buttons with plastic dip matte black or any color to get the 2012 model contrast, if so how would you do. has any one tried this ? the only problem would be the indicators as being black and around it being white. but in 2012 models u got white indicators and black around it. so its hard to make the black indicators white or else it would be blacked out. Any thoughts

I don't think you can do it yourself, try a custom restore shop they might be able to do what you want. Won't be cheap though is my guess.

I noticed the shape of the buttons changed, so you can't swap them for newer ones. But you can buy a used one on eBay. Less than $100 isn't too bad.

Do you think they will function and fit correctly to the previous models?
i noticed everything is the same except there is an extra button for heating etc,.

Also What about the top hazard, unlock/lock, nav and phone etc,. can you get those too?

Plasti dip will rub off, I am sure you can find someone to paint them but they would need to be really good at detail work.

I've actually taken apart a center button unit from the long blade and the plastic buttons actually come off very easy. I was hoping the silver was a metal cap over a translucent button so I could paint the silver but it's not. It's an odd clear section inside for the little image to glow. And the LED bulb is very far inside the unit.
I had my veneers all refinished in piano black and I also had the silver panel around the buttons painted as well.
It comes off very easy. You could order some gloss vinyl wrap and cover the panel to match your veneer. You may have to try several colors to get a good match.

Decent interior dude. I am thinking of refinishing my veneers to black piano and gloss vinyl wrap for the panel. Black piano veneers only come for 2012+ models. How did you change it? also do u think the 2012 model panels will fit to our car and function?

The dash and console very easy.
The doors take patience. Whole door panel comes off. Only 4 screws and plastic rivets, unplug a couple speaker and wiring harnesses and release the handle cabrl pin. Then there's clips holding in wood. Bitch to get off the clips! Then the panels come right off.
I'm thinking about wrapping all my old veneers in black brushed steel and selling on eBay.

Have you done this yet? I would be interested in buying these from you.
