Default EPB problem and CJB (BCM) removal

Hi guys!

Long story short:
I have lost the EPB on my XF (randomly works sometimes), checked batteries, small one was 11v so i replaced it still no joy, bigger one i replaced a year ago and its ok.
Icarsoft shows U2011 motor, but it works sometimes so i dont think its motor itself, also pads and discs are fairly new.

Then suspected infamous XF water leak issue and checked plug C3BP01E in CJB and spotted small corrosion there, i would like to remove CJB (or BCM as some call it).

My question is , is it safe to remove it so i can later install it again with no issues so i could check inside?

TSB states: "NOTE: Before removing the CJB, all vehicle keys MUST be present."

This makes me bit cautious of touching it.

Plug state (not too bad in my opion), obviously i need to replace washer pump and its plugs but il do that later.

The plugs look fine
The easiest thing to do would be to put a meter across the terminals of the motor and see if it’s being energised when the lever’s pulled
Motors do fail in this way sometimes
Start with the easy stuff first and work up to the hard bits
